As part of the federal government response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), on March 19, 2020 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued via memo its list of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers.
Under memo guidance, the U.S. chemical industry is identified as ‘Essential Critical Infrastructure’, an industry sector critical to public health and safety, economic and national security and should continue normal operations, while following CDC workforce and customer protection guidance.
