The EH&S mission is to understand the concerns of Brazoria County citizens relative to the chemical manufacturing industry: and to inform/educate the citizenry about the benefits to the county and its residents the member companies deliver to all.
With the addition of CAER (Community Awareness & Emergency Response) to the BCPC, the mission will include the continuation of communications outreach that provides information to the community in the event an emergency should occur from one of the surrounding companies.
The EH&S team, created by representatives from several member companies, hosted a Dropped Object Symposium to emphasize injury prevention due to dropped objects. According to OSHA, more than 50,000 people in the United States are “struck by falling objects” each year. Over 200 professionals attended the Dropped Object Symposium to collaborate with each other to ensure that everyone who works inside member facilities goes home in the same condition in which they arrive every day. Check out the video of the symposium.
The dropped objects safety symposium and other activities from the BCPC are to always act as good neighbors. Read more about the Dropped Object Symposium here.
